Questions and Answers
All Balls Racing has been producing high quailty OEM replace bearings for over 2 decades. Their bearings are made to exacting tolerances frmo the high quality materials on the market and are a vast improvement over the OEM ones. These are a direct OEM replacement and an upgrade for any motorcycle not using ball bearings.
Q:
I recently purchased from you an All Balls steering head bearing kit for my 1985 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk, part number 22-1011, on my customer ID # 12856, PO# 100078164. According to THEIR website, where I first checked for the right number, this is supposed to fit my bike, along with almost every other Honda twin and four made in the 70s and 80s. But it does not. In particular, after installation, the top race sticks up about 2.5 mm higher than the top of the steering head tube. This prevents the top triple clamp from seating where it needs to, for starters. I didn't think to compare it to the stock one that I took out, but when I encountered the problem, it was easy to see how wrong it is. This is apparently bearing #99-3511 for the top. The bottom bearing #99-3512 is already installed on the lower triple clamp, all greased up. It may be the right one, but the top most certainly is not. Now my bike is all apart in the garage until we get this figured out. Please help soonest. Charlie
